Using genetic insights for precision cancer care

Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT) targets specific genes within cancer cells, microorganisms, and viruses to inhibit their growth or survival. By utilizing small oligonucleotide molecules, SOT aims to disrupt key genetic signals responsible for promoting disease progression.

How it works?

Oligonucleotides are short RNA molecules containing sequences of nucleotides that store genetic information. In therapeutic applications, they target mRNA to alter gene expression and protein synthesis. Therapeutic Oligonucleotides play a crucial role in treating genetic defects and metabolic disorders by modulating protein production.

How it helps?

Supportive Oligonucleotide Therapy (SOT) starts with a process of finding the appropriate genes to be silenced. Once the genes are targeted, the genes are validated with high specificity after which the therapeutic molecules are designed to specifically target RNA sequences associated with disease-causing genes, minimizing the risk of off-target effects. When oligonucleotide complementary to the mRNA for a specific region of this gene is created, it is known as Antisense therapy. It is a form of SOT, utilizes oligonucleotides to silence genes essential for cancer cell proliferation or inhibit the expression of anti-apoptotic proteins.

Why choose SOT?

SOT offers a personalized approach to treating various conditions, including cancer and infectious diseases like Lyme disease. SOT is used to treat solid tumors and hematological malignancies.

The goal of SOT is to inhibit the expression of proteins that are essential for cell metabolism and/or survival. By precise targeting, SOT inhibits the survival or growth of cancer cells and pathogens, improving patient outcomes.

Useful Information

Positive test results confirmed the presence of CTCs within six months.

You can use any of the RGCC tests that contain CTC Count results (Example: Oncotrace, Oncotrail or Oncocount, Onconomics, Onconomics Extracts, or Onconomics Plus)

After SOT administration, the patient should be off all therapies for 7 days.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    • Can tests be conducted during ongoing treatment?

Absolutely, tests can be performed while undergoing treatment to assess the effectiveness of the treatment against cancer.

    • What happens to my blood sample post-testing?

Your blood sample undergoes processing in cutting-edge laboratories by scientists and technicians to deliver insights into your cancer cells. Once testing is complete, your sample is stored for up to six months in case further analysis is needed.

    • Is a blood sample sufficient?

Yes, all RGCC tests utilize blood samples. However, certain cancers, like glioblastoma and brain tumors, may require additional samples such as CSF or tissue. Otherwise, a peripheral blood sample alone is enough.

    • Can the origin of a tumor be determined by the tests?

Yes, tests like aCGH can pinpoint the origin of an unknown primary tumor by analyzing genetic abnormalities present in tumor cells.

    • What tests are effective in identifying the emergence of secondary tumors?

RGCC tests like Metastat accurately detect the development of secondary tumors.

    • How do tests personalize cancer treatment?

Tests personalize treatment regimens by providing crucial information on drugs and therapies tailored to effectively target cancer cells.

    • What are CTCs and CSCs?

Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) are cancer cells that have detached from the primary tumor and circulate in the bloodstream. Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs) are a subpopulation of CTCs and both serve as biomarkers for cancer.

    • Do tests reveal drug resistance and sensitivity?

Indeed, tests are designed to reveal whether cancer cells are resistant or sensitivity to specific drugs and treatments.
