How it works?

RGCC Oncotrail is a follow-up test that is used to track Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs). By analyzing CTCs, and the activity of the stemness markers and markers specific to your specific type of cancer, the OncoTrail results add crucial information about your cancer prognosis as it is designed specifically to provide the information specific to your specific type of cancer.

Utilizing cutting-edge technology, this non-invasive approach allows for precise tracking of cancer progression.

How it is done?

The blood sample will be processed at RGCC’s state-of-the-art laboratory in Greece.

Examining circulating tumor cells, which act as prognostic indicators, and analyzing the phenotype and stemness markers they contain can provide essential insights into cancer prognosis and treatment effectiveness.

Why choose RGCC Oncotrail?

OncoTrail results are used for comprehensive monitoring of the effectiveness of your cancer treatment plan and early risk stratifying of recurrence/relapse. It provides three critical pieces of information that can determine if cancer progresses.

  • CTC count
  • Phenotype markers
  • Stemness markers

CTC Count: Helps to determine the complexity of the disease, studies show a direct correlation between the CTC count and overall tumor burden. The CTC count helps clinicians assess the treatment responses.

Phenotype markers: Phenotype markers serve as important tools for cancer research, facilitating the discovery of new treatment targets and the development of innovative diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. Phenotype markers play a crucial role in guiding treatment decisions.

Stemness markers: Like the Oncotrace test, Oncotrail also provides crucial information on the important cancer stem cells (CSCs) responsible for tumor initiation, progression, metastasis, and treatment resistance.

Which cancers are tested?

Oncotrail test is a comprehensive tool that reveals the presence and concentration of circulating tumor cells (CTCs). The test helps in developing specialized treatment plans for specific forms of cancer, such as Breast cancer, Colon, GI, Melanoma, Lung, Sarcoma, and Prostate.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely, tests can be performed while undergoing treatment to assess the effectiveness of the treatment against cancer.

RGCC Metastat is an effective test for identifying secondary tumors development and its potential location. It helps detect secondary tumors through analyzing Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) in the bloodstream. The test provides valuable insights into disease progression and metastasis.

Your blood sample undergoes processing in cutting-edge laboratories by scientists and technicians to deliver insights into your cancer cells.

Tests personalize treatment regimens by providing crucial information on drugs and therapies tailored to effectively target cancer cells.

Yes, all RGCC tests utilize blood samples. However, certain cancers, like glioblastoma and brain tumors, may require additional samples such as CSF or tissue. Otherwise, a peripheral blood sample alone is enough.

Circulating Tumor Cells (CTCs) are cancer cells that have detached from the primary tumor and circulate in the bloodstream. Cancer Stem Cells (CSCs) are a subpopulation of CTCs and both serve as biomarkers for cancer.

Yes, tests like aCGH can pinpoint the origin of an unknown primary tumor by analyzing genetic abnormalities present in tumor cells.

Tests like ChemoSNiP and CAMBISeq provide information on the body’s response to the drugs and sensitivity to immunotherapy.
